I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Washington State (LW 60961647) and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California (LCSW88501).

If you are getting through life, maybe even succeeding at many aspects of it but feeling like something is missing, I may be able to help. I enjoy supporting clients in finding new ways to increase their unique strengths and address challenges that hold them back from being present and engaged in creating a fulfilling life. My specialties include neurodivergence (ADHD, learning differences etc.), eco and social-political distress/anxiety or grief, those who work in the education field, who are experiencing high levels of stress, and those navigating new landscapes and transitions in life. I have personal experience and have taken additional training in supporting neurodiverse clients, as well as those who have experienced environmental disasters and eco/social/political distress.
What is neurodivergence?
Neurodivergence, from a clinical point of view, is when someone's brain processes, learns, or behaves differently from what is considered "typical." It is commonly used to describe those who are autistic or those who have ADHD. However, it can also apply to those with dyslexia, auditory processing differences, bipolar, or other brain differences. Those who are neurodivergent have their own unique strengths and unique challenges. Therapy for neurodivergent folks often involves identifying and amplifying your strengths, working on acceptance when applicable, and identifying the challenges and the best tools to navigate them.

What is eco and social-political distress/anxiety or grief?
People experiencing eco and social-political distress come to my practice for many reasons and from different political backgrounds or beliefs. Some individuals are experiencing distress over local, national, or international changes they see in the environment or political events happening nationally or internationally. Others are experiencing stress in their jobs due to environmental or political issues; some people are experiencing distress about the future and its potential impact on their children, grandchildren, or their decision to have children, and still others are feeling distressed due to division within their families or friend groups. Therapy for those experiencing eco and/or social-political distress often includes creating space to talk about and process a client’s experiences and tools to manage the feeling of distress.

Regardless of why you come to my therapy practice, I am committed to a collaborative, genuine, and supportive relationship where we can address the issues that keep you stuck or repeat themselves in your life. I believe in the power of resilience and people's courage and tenacity during difficult times. Our differences (including "mental illness" and neurodivergence) provide unique and valuable perspectives for the world but can also create intense internal or external challenges. I utilize a strength-based, person-centered approach and tailor my therapy to your needs. I work to help you maximize your strengths and address challenges by identifying skills and strategies to increase resilience and better attain your goals. I would be honored to be part of your journey.
